"Charmed"
started its eight season with fair ratings. "Still Charmed and
Kicking" posted 2.5/4 (overnights:3.4/5 - 3.98 million
viewers* and a 1.9/ 4 among adults 18-49 at 8 p.m) These were the lowest
ratings for a Season Premiere for "Charmed" (last year
"A Call to Arms" got 4.7/7 in the overnights and 5.600.000
viewers) The competition was a big reason for these low ratings as "Extreme
Makeover" premiered with a 2 hour episode gaining 9.9/15 and "Cold
Case", scoring an 11.0/17. Anyway "Charmed" is
still by far the best performer on Sunday Nights for The WB as "Blue
Colar TV" only scored 1.7/2. Let's hope the ratings improve during
the season....

Some more
spoilers about Charmed...
''We kind of dug ourselves a pretty interesting creative hole,'' admits
executive producer Brad Kern. To be sure, there's painting yourself into a
corner, and there's burning down the whole house. In the seventh season
finale, the three Halliwell sisters ostensibly died and transformed into
other actresses. ''We wrote a quasi–series finale, because at that time we
didn't know if we were coming back.'' The series is back, and it will
craftily explain the ersatz finale: Everyone else sees the clan's new
aliases, but they (and we) see them as themselves, Holly Marie Combs, Alyssa
Milano, and Rose McGowan. It also explains the need for 8 Simple Rules'
Kaley Cuoco as an apprentice witch, charged with demon-fighting in their
stead. In other casting news, Dorian Gregory is gone, but Jason Lewis snags
a recurring role as Dex Lawson. Speaking of ups and downs, don't count on
this being Charmed's last season, either, says Kern. ''You can't kill this
show.'' So we see.

Ausiello from
"Tv Guide OnLine" answered some questions regarding
"Charmed" this week, where he talks about the almost impossible
return of Shannen Doherty and also about Brian Krause's future:
"Question: I keep hearing that Shannen Doherty is coming back to
Charmed this season. Is it true? — Andrea"
"Ausiello: I ask exec producer Brad Kern this question every time we
talk — and his response usually goes something like this: "Um, are
you nuts?!?!?" But considering this will likely be the show's last
season, it stands to reason that Prue would pay a visit in the final
episode, right? Wrong. "I can't imagine she would," Kern admits,
adding, "I can't imagine she'd want to. I'm not averse to picking up
the phone and asking, but it's hard for me to imagine that she would want
to.' "
"Question: Brad Kern said this season on Charmed viewers will see a
shift in focus more "toward the girls' personal lives." But Leo
(Brian Krause) has been reduced to 10 episodes? How is that possible? —
Candy"
"Ausiello: Um, Brad, you wanna take this one? "As it stands now,
yes, his order has been cut back," he responds. "But I have
personal hopes that we'll be able to find the money [in the budget] to
[bring him back for more].' "

There is an Article in The Miami Herald about the upcoming series this fall.
This is what they have to say about "Charmed":
"As
for the WB's hit drama, Charmed, not many spoilers have been released
about the show's upcoming and possibly last season, save a few guest
star contracts. We asked Holly Marie Combs about it in passing, and
got only this small blurb:
'All I can say is that it's fresh. It's something you haven't seen in
a while...more the style of season 1-2 than the other seasons...it
should be interesting, and if it's the last then at least we'll go out
with a bang,' Combs says. Let's hope so."
The site is back again with a new style and
image! But it is still under construction so you might experiece some issues
that we will solve soon. Hope you like the new design, and WELCOME BACK!!
As you probably know there are some rumors about
next season's "Charmed" Cast. We know that Allysa, Rose and Holly
are comming back, but what about Brian and Dorian (Leo and Darriel)?? Some
sites are posting that Leo will be in only 10 episodes next season, and
Dorian will not even appear in one. They say that this might happend because
the production wants to have more "high price" guest stars,
meaning that they need more money, thus laying off Dorian and reducing
Brian's appearance. Is this is true, will this be a good idea?
Then the already confirmed news are that Jason Lewis will be
replacing Mark McGrath in a six-episode arc, and that the young Kaley Cuoco
will be joining the cast as Billie, a young witch under the tutelage of the
Charmed Ones. Also Adrienne Wilkinson will be filming a guest spot on the
eighth season premiere of the WB television series and she's playing a
character simply called, "The Brunette."
